Great searching eyes

Mulligan's eyes are the first of many that one becomes aware of in reading Ulysses. Characters' eyes frequently convey information about their states of mind, and none more so than Mulligan's. The shifting mental landscape that they reveal is far more important than their color, but one scholarly edition of the novel has made the color problematic.
